e2eNOW Coming Soon!
An excerpt from the "Visioning Your Business" included in the "What Business Should I Choose?" module of e2eNOWVisioningOur minds excel at pattern recognition. We look for how things fit together, how things work. In fact, our entire existence unfolds from the things we know and believe, along with our experiences. This is why imagination and visualization are important. When we visualize a future outcome or goal, we are in fact loading our blueprint for how we want the future to be. Where we break down this vision into goals, we give ourselves targets to shoot for. These are milestones on the journey of making our vision a reality. We cannot get anywhere without a specific goal. Everything we do is goal driven, from getting a sandwich to making a million. We set our course in life using a series of goals whether we are aware of it or not. Since we are already using goals in a passive, unconscious way, what would happen if we took a more active role in choosing our goals? How far could we get if we set our destination and let that determine all of the smaller goals in between? It seems deceptively simple but that is the process you need to follow to successfully launch or grow your business, or to accomplish anything else, for that matter. By not starting with a goal it’s easy to lose focus. You may be swayed by people or events into a business that you don’t have a passion for. Without a clear goal in mind you may make choices that ultimately lead you away from your desired outcome. When we let it, our mind can accomplish almost anything. Just add a goal plus commitment and GO! Literally, like a guided missile, we will course correct, continuously refining our course until we reach our target. Aim HighAs you work toward your goal, you will have incidents that take your project off course and slow it down. You may not get all the funding you need, people in the project may leave or experience set backs; any of a host of things can happen that will cause you fall short of your ultimate goal. If your goal was set at the minimum acceptable outcome, if you fall short, you will probably consider that a failure.Imagine, however, that you set your sights way beyond that minimally acceptable point and your shot, while not reaching that far goal, flies right past the minimum outcome. Wouldn’t that landing spot be more acceptable than falling short? When instructor teach golfers putting, an instructor tells you to hit the ball hard enough to reach the cup. If enough force is not put into the shot, it can be perfectly straight but not accomplish the goal because it will fall short. Imagining a larger goal gives you a bigger mental target to hit and your thinking will become more expansive to hit it. e2eNOW will be launching this Friday! |
